My eye is mostly attracted to color and the quality of light -- factors in my work that some gallery-bred purists might consider disqualifying. Moreover, I am utterly disinterested in portraying the gritty and often depressing underside of life to which many contemporary photographers seem drawn. I know the gritty side is out there. I grew up in it.  I moved on.  I tend to encourage others to do the same.  A focus upon the subtlety of light is, for me, a way to offer such encouragement.

Thus I offer the small photographic insights that follow -- not to move or motivate you to social action, but to entertain and perhaps to engage your attention in an inner light that is made manifest in each of us in varying degrees and ways.
